We are a PADI Dive Center located on Lake Huron at the tip of the Thumb in Port Austin, Michigan. About 2 hours north of Detroit, the Thumb Bottomland Preserve provides over 28 wrecks and sights for us to dive in our area.

We offer scuba lessons at your convenience! You work with our instructor to pick the times, dates and length of course that works for you. Chuck, our instructor, is certified to teach from novices (open water) through Divemaster. If you are already PADI certified and want to go to the next step, give us a call!

Our dive charters let you pick the time, day and locations you wish to dive. A typical two-tank charter lets you explore two different sites and costs $75 a person.
We can provide a guide for an additional fee if you are new to cold water diving or in need of a dive buddy!

We also have rental equipment and new and used equipment. Our new lines include Mares, Trident, OMS and Poseidon.

Down Time is located inside of Chuck's Marine, a full-service factory-authorized marina and repair facility.
New for 2004, Chuck's Marine is offering towing and salvage! Call us if you're in trouble!
